If you receive a SAR towards the end of term, there is still a requirement that there is one month to respond. There is no allowance for school or public holidays.

However, if the SAR cannot be completed before the end of term, then please make sure it is logged on the Knowledge Bank, along with the requestor's contact information. Contact DPE (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and ask us to manage the SAR until after the holiday. We will communicate with the requestor and explain timelines of response and also to seek clarification, if any is needed. You can also communicate with the requestor and provide them with our contact information whilst informing them that we will be the point of contact for the subject access request.

Remember that the request will need responding to as quickly as possible in the new term - the month deadline doesn't move unless we can validly apply an extension.
